The Clare Quarry is a family owned company owned by the Schmidt family.
It all commenced in 1961 by Walter and Trevor Schmidt as 'Spalding Earthmovers', operating a mobile crusher supplying aggregates used in the production of grain silo's in South Australia's Mid North.
In 1971 the father and son team purchased the Clare Council Quarry at Clare in South Australia. This quarry supplied Clare and the surrounding districts with building and roadway materials from the original crushing plant. With demand steadily increasing a larger plant was commissioned in October 1984 which saw a threefold increase in production.
Demand continued to increase and in 1992 Clare Quarry took it's biggest step forward opening the Spalding Quarry. This is a Dolomite Quarry that produces a high quality stone.
To this day the Clare Quarry with it's Quality Assurance System and high level of efficient services enjoys a large percentage of the road building and sealing aggregates market in the Northern and Eastern parts of the State. |
